I think I have been slacking, lol…nah…I am good on my internet connection today. Let’s get on with sharing. (I do love the ability to share ME and be able to revisit these posts in time, its exciting!)
Day 7. After staying up late I decided to have me a late morning on this day, by late I mean like 6:30 instead of 5:30 in the morning, when the sun comes up. I had my breakfast and received the house workers …D and K were hosting an instructive meeting on the Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease since they adopted a dive site called ”Happily Ever After” which they plan to treat and monitor to prevent the spread of the disease on other coral. The meeting was an orientation on what needs to be done and the “medicine” an epoxy and amoxicillin mix and how it is applied. This mix is put on the affected areas of the coral so we geared up and all went down for a dive to put it on. (I will post a video or two of some slides and a video of the placing).
We all came back and I came home to change and then D and I went to do some grocery and house shopping, I don’t get down to town often (Coxed Hole), which is the main commerce side of the island and it is always interesting to see how busy it is there, it truly brings me back to Tegucigalpa , where I grew up. I will say, it is fascinating to see the contrast from the West End, where I am staying to Coxed Hole.
We came back home and shortly there after my friend boat Capt Paul came over to watch sunset with me and we talked for a bit and then he left. I spend the rest of my evening star gazing, it is the perfect way to end my night, then went to bed windows open and fan blowing in my direction.
Day 8. I woke up this morning not rested at all, I am surprised that I went to bed with such bliss and woke up in the middle of the night with such discomfort. I had bad nightmares, I was sweating, and the bed just wasn’t comfortable. This made my first part of the morning a bit slow, but I gathered myself up and went scuba diving with Octopus Dive school right up the street, to continue my certification and we went to a super cool dive spot called Gibson Bight, it was really cool. The owner of the school, Nuria, has a site that she named after her late dog, Pirata, and we went there also, Piratas Dream, there are really nice swim throughs there and she was also treating the coral at her site. Really nice dive day. I came back home, took a nice shower, and spoke to my family and saw my niece. I miss her a lot, I miss her scent and her kisses and how she lights up when I sing to her, it is the purest and most loveliest loves because it is so genuine and innocent. After my happy tears subsided, I put some music on, went downstairs and worked on the yard, got a Plumeria flower, watched the sunset and the night set in, made myself a loaded fruit shake and called it a night. Something amazing sets in with closing my day in this place, it is surreal, the many emotions that go through me, and they all find their path to appreciation. I am very grateful to be living this experience.
Day 9. Today was a windy and rainy day… I do love the rain. I love to heart, I love to watch it and I love its smell. I woke up early and had me a fun workout. I have been doing some virtual yoga classes and I brought my jump rope, so it was a fun little body warm up. I cleaned up and did some computer work and once the clouds started to darken, I grabbed my book and made my way to the hammock to watch the show. There’s an open area under the big house where I arranged my rock project and where the hammocks are hung, and it is the most perfect place to watch rain and time pass by.
So among the many activities I am involved in here, I started to brush up on my standard transmission driving, so I drove the truck and took the trash down to the dump , I was feeling pretty proud of myself, self teaching can be nerve-wrecking, but it’s pretty rewarding. I came back and D and K invited me over for a pizza dinner from Junior’s and after our happy hour together, I made my way to my bed.
There are many things I have on my to-do list, and I aim to get them done “mañana” like D says all the time, but I am really enjoying my island time. I have bruises on my legs from boat ladders and buckets, and I have bug bites in a few places, and I am surely sweating more than I can ever remember, but I am embracing this opportunity and this amazing ride, the ride of life!
I hope that I can inspire you to write at least one highlight of your day, and roll on that feel good vibration. There are many different moments in our lives, but focus on the good and more of those will come.
I hope you stay tuned to the next few days and join me during my journey… Adios for now and Buenas Noches!
Here are few pictures of my morning view, some underwater selfies, my rain time and other fun stuff…
