Being Self-Employed

What I do for a living now? After being in the office environment for so long, I stepped out of my comfort zone and now I seem to get asked this more often than ever … Well, I am Self-Employed!…and what exactly do I do? .. well, EVERYTHING. I’m the manager, head of the networking unit since I do referrals in real estate and retirement planning. I am the bookkeeper, I maintain and oversee the accounting department. I am the landlord and manage the expenses. Lately I have been the tax preparer and the secretary. I’m the assistant to the president, I am the janitor and I am the plan preparer. I’m the company photographer, head of the marketing department, director of the information technology and data processing section. I am the company chef when the main is hungry. I am the loan officer, the nurse and spiritual counselor. I am also in the handy department and oversee any developments. When resources run low, then I am the one responsible for the cash supply, in those cases, hostessing and serving as well as being a first mate are just a few of my other titles. I am and do IT ALL in the company …I am the President of the company and the First Lady as well… that basically sums it up.

It’s pretty cool to see ideas manifest along with the many responsibilities that come with them. I feel so empowered to be my own boss, my own engine and the one to decide. I have choices to make, the need to think, breathe and go make the means necessary to sustain and create. It is a learning time and it can be a bumpy road, but I didn’t inherit it, I didn’t steal it and I take pride in that…This journey is all that matters and this is what I do for a living, I do a little bit of everything!

What do you do?

Do you love it, hate it, deal with it?

If you could do anything , what would you do?
